The city was founded in 1811. In 1921 the city was incorporated and attained its city status in 1960. It is located 15 miles south of Cleveland and has a large community center. In the community center, there is a pool with a one-meter diving board. There are also indoor and outdoor pools. The indoor pool has fun kids friendly features. There are actually two pools inside that allow for swimming competitions as well as kids to play in. There is also a therapy pool. Outside there is a large community pool that is aimed at kids and families. For the therapy pool, you will need a note from your doctor to use. The Brecksville Recreation center also has a solid gym to help members of the community stay in shape or get into shape.
If you wish to visit the community center but have small children that aren’t allowed in the fitness areas, you can have them watched at the child care center that is located there. This is a nice convenience that many parents take advantage of when possible.
